Follow the steps below to create a new QuickBooks company file from an existing one in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Creating new files from the old ones is easy if you are using QB Enterprise or Accountant version and can be done by following the steps below:
    1. On QuickBooks, open File and then click no New Company from Existing Company file option.
    2. Now click on Browse and then navigate to the company file you want to copy.
    3. Select the file and click on Open.
    4. Name the copied file and when you are done, click on the Create company option.
Now QuickBooks will copy your preferences, reports, chart of account, sales tax items, and everything to the new company file. Note that copying data from previous files to a new one does not include copying sensitive data like payroll, back or credit card details, Employer identification number, etc.
