Kyodo news agency reported a statement from a Myanmar military spokesman that said former Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been taken from the secret detention facility to the prisonSuu Kyi faces trial on dozens of criminal charges. After the Myanmar military coup d’état overthrew the democratically elected government in February 2021 and detained Suu Kyi at her home in Naypyidaw.
