A publishing company sells and distributes books (and magazines, newspapers, digital content, etc.) They may contribute to the editing process to ensure their published content is up to snuff. The publishing company decides what kind of marketing (and where to advertise) will best help sell their books. My book on marketing strategies is almost complete but I don’t know how much do authors make per book to have an assumption to save money according to it.
