Two new versions of the MB&F HM9-SV

In preparation for Geneva replica watches luxury Days, MB&F has released two new versions of the HM9-SV, blue and green.

HM9 is a very shocking watch, definitely a masterpiece in the world of sculpture. When we first saw it, our hearts were blown away. But just a year later, in 2019, the Flow watch once again shook up our world view of watches, replacing the lines of old cars with streamlined aerodynamics. In 2021, the Sapphire SV version will be released again. These are miniature sculptures that tell the time. Four versions of the HM9 SV were subsequently released. Two have an 18K red gold frame with a black or blue engine, and two have an 18K white gold frame with a purple or red gold engine. Now, two more versions have been added to the collection, an 18K gold frame with a green engine and an 18K white gold frame with a blue engine.

First unveiled in 2018, the Horological Machine N°9, nicknamed HM9 “Flow,” pays homage to the extraordinary automotive and aeronautical design of the 1940s and 1950s. The result is a unique case that echoes the smooth aerodynamic lines of the era.

Despite its striking appearance, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser describes the engine inside the HM9 as “the most beautiful movement we have created to date.” What other logical steps could be taken without encasing the HM9 engine in a clear sapphire crystal case? replica MB & F watches

The result was the “Sapphire Vision” version of the HM9 – also known as the HM9-SV.

The sapphire crystal and precious metal case, curved and bubbled, is precisely assembled in three parts and sealed using a proprietary combination of patented three-dimensional gaskets and a high-tech composite bonding process. Two completely independent cantilever-balanced channels convert the data into differences, converting two heartbeats into a coherent time pulse. Ultra-precision bevel gears effectively rotate the engine’s energy and information flow through a 90° angle to display the time on a sapphire crystal dial with Super-LumiNova markers.

On the other hand, coaxially beneath each balance wheel are the propellers: freely rotating twin turbines as elements of pure visual interest, waiting for someone to embark on a new type of exploration. After the original HM9 Flow ‘air’ and ‘road’ versions conquered land and sky, HM9-SV takes us into the depths of the ocean – the last realm on Earth that still holds a host of untold secrets. Before you is an exploration ship from Atlantis, powered by different technologies that are both familiar and alien to our eyes. best replica watches

Visually, the lines of the HM9-SV continue the blueprint of its road- and aerospace-specified predecessors. Although hydraulic control targets allow the HM9-SV to take a more relaxed approach to the sharp internal angles and parabolas of previous Flow versions, the laws of fluid dynamics still dominate its design. From a technical point of view, the dimensions needed to be redesigned to take into account the differences in the material properties of sapphire crystal; although sapphire is extremely hard, it cracks dramatically under pressure, whereas the metal simply deforms. The HM9-SV’s smoother lines minimize areas of potential mechanical vulnerability while also enhancing the aesthetic appeal of its marine inhabitants.

The HM9 engine follows the path pioneered by the horological N°4 and N°6 engines, leaving behind the conventions of movement construction. Its three-dimensional assemblage of wheels, gears, plates and bridges inhabits unexpected forms within a dynamic shell, a throbbing combination of mechanical guts and endoskeleton within a crystalline body.

The traditional balance frequency of 2.5Hz (18,000vph) may seem strangely anachronistic for a modern timepiece, but the sensitivity to shocks associated with the lower beat rate can be compensated for by using two balances instead of one. Statistically speaking, two identically calibrated systems provide better average readings than a single system, which can produce abnormal results for a variety of reasons. high quality watches replica

To further reduce sensitivity to shocks, the HM9-SV version features a new shock-absorbing system: a coil spring placed between the movement and case. The springs are laser-made from solid tubes of polished stainless steel and offer excellent elasticity and limited lateral displacement.

Performing the task of measuring the time of the average HM9 engine’s twin balances is the planetary differential (the movement’s gearbox), which then provides the final reading displayed on the vertically oriented dial. This complex mechanical calculation was partly reflected in the original HM9 Flow, with a sapphire crystal dome above each balance wheel and a magnifying glass above the planetary differential, visually emphasizing the importance of its chronograph function. . In the HM9-SV, every aspect of the engine is available for exploration; the eye can follow the interaction of individual components from the barrel to the balance wheel, from the differential to the dial.

In order to seal the sapphire crystal external components into a waterproof watch case, new solutions had to be created. A patented three-dimensional rubber gasket was already used in the original HM9 Flow to ensure water resistance when the three-part housing is bolted together. The 3D gasket remains in the HM9-SV, but the sapphire crystal is fused to the metal frame thanks to a high-tech bonding compound, mastered through an in-house process involving vacuum and high temperatures. Although there are barely visible seams between the sapphire components and the minimalist 18K gold frame, they are sealed to withstand water pressure of 3ATM (30m).Replica Franck Muller Watches

There are initially four versions of the HM9 Sapphire Vision, each limited to just five pieces: two versions with an 18K red gold frame, combined with NAC-coated black or PVD-coated blue engines; both versions with an 18K white gold frame, Comes with PVD coated purple or red gold plated engine. In 2023, two new versions join the HM9 Sapphire Vision; a PVD-coated blue engine with a white gold frame, and a PVD-coated green engine with a gold frame.

clear vision

Often referred to as sapphire crystal in its gem-quality form, corundum is one of the hardest minerals known to man. Only a few other materials are harder than it, notably diamond (crystalline carbon), which has a hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, and corundum, which has a hardness of 9. This exceptional hardness means that sapphire watch crystals are virtually scratch-proof, offering unparalleled legibility and material integrity over the long term, not to mention the reputation it brings over ordinary silicate glass or Nothing compared to clear polycarbonate (the two most common alternatives to sapphire watch glass).

At the same time, this also means that processing sapphire into complex three-dimensional shapes is extremely challenging, which is exacerbated by the small processing tolerances required by the watchmaking industry. Since its original creation, MB&F has continued to work with increasingly complex sapphire crystal components. The HM2 "Sapphire Vision", the twin dome crystals of the HM4 "Thunderbolt", the more recent HM3 FrogX and the phantom body of the HM6 "Alien Nation" are prime examples.

Preparing the crystal for a single HM9-SV case requires approximately 350 hours of meticulous machining and polishing; this workload would have been significantly longer were it not for the groundbreaking sapphire crystal designs that MB&F has accumulated over the years since 2005.
More information about the HM9 engine

The HM9 engine is the result of three years of development, conceived and assembled entirely in-house and the experience gained from MB&F’s 20 different movements to date.

Longtime members of the MB&F tribe will recognize the mechanical pedigree of the HM9 engine. Its twin counterbalance system with differential is derived from a similar mechanism in the Legacy Machine N°2, albeit in a very different aesthetic form. The LM2 emphasizes the purity of the design and the illusive effect of its suspended oscillators, while the HM9 celebrates expressive design.

Two balances beating within the same movement will inevitably lead to discussions of resonance, a mechanical phenomenon that describes linked oscillators in a state of mutual harmonic excitation. Like the LM2 engine, the Horological Machine N°9 deliberately avoids inducing resonance effects. The purpose of its inclusion of two balance wheels is to obtain a discrete set of timing data that can be converted by a differential to produce a stable average reading. This purpose would be defeated by two balance wheels oscillating exactly in phase, giving the same timing data at every point. https://www.chronowrist.ru

Regulating a double balance is a challenge in a class of its own. The industry-standard device used to regulate the balance assembly of a watch uses the sound made by the balance to measure the beat rate. Since the HM9 engine has two counterbalanced components operating simultaneously, producing two sets of sounds, this approach is not feasible here. When first launched in 2018, each model of the Horological Machine N°9 had to adjust the remaining balance by blocking one balance first and vice versa. When both balances are allowed to run, the calibration will change slightly, requiring multiple rounds of re-locking and re-adjustment to obtain optimal timing results.

Since then, the MB&F team has made significant advances in timing adjustment technology, thanks in large part to the experience gained while creating the Legacy Machine Thunderdome. HM9-SV therefore benefits from an extra few years of expertise in the field – not much from a calendar perspective, but immeasurable from a technical perspective. https://www.proreviewwatch.co
